Headlight Painting

I got bored while waiting for someone with more bike knowledge than myself to help me prioritize the mechanical issues, so I pulled the headlight off and gave it a quick rattle-can paint job. I highly recommend matte flat camo paint.

FUCK. That is a lot of wires.

1979 GS550 project

I was browsing for craigslist bikes (surprise surprise) and I came across a 1979 GS550.

1979 Suzuki GS550

This bike runs, drives and shifts well. It starts immediately and accelerates strongly. I have rebuilt a lot of the bike in order to make it road-worthy.
It has:
Brand new tires
New clubman handlebars
Rebuilt front brake master cylinder (new piston, spring, o-rings, flushed and bled)
Rebuilt rear brake master cylinder (new piston, spring, o-rings, flushed and bled)
Rebuilt all 4 carburetors (cleaned, dipped, new jets, o-rings, seals etc)
Custom Cafe-style seat
New mirrors
New chain
New air filter
New spark plugs
New battery
Clear title in hand.

This bike also comes with a Rubbermaid tub with spare parts (spare set of carbs, front fender, inner tube, etc) and a repair manual. I have a ramp to load the bike into a pickup or onto a trailer and the ramp goes with the bike as well.
$1000 Cash OBO. Also willing to consider a utility trailer as partial trade.

I drove to Columbia, MO in a borrowed panel van, offered the guy $800 and took home my first bike!

I don’t know what the guy was thinking with that seat, or the side panels, but both are going to need replacing. yikes. I should also probably consider an exhaust at some point as well. First though, I need to get a helmet and some gloves and get the mechanical nightmares sorted out.

Any tips or help is more than welcome!
